dreams, goals, and other adventures

We all have dreams. Things we want to accomplish before we get married, have kids, or die. A running bucket list (which is a great movie, by the way). I made a bucket list a few times and I keep misplacing the damn thing. So I write another. I have decided to post my bucket list. Partly because then I won't lose it--unless I forget my login information which is highly likely. And partly because this is a journey for me. So here are the top three things I want to do in the next year:

Write a book
Start a home business
Go to the beach

These are all possible and they will happen one way or another. Maybe it will take longer but I am determined. I will add to my list because there are many more things I want to do before the year is out and definitely before I die. :-)

Today I resolve to....

Today has been a rather lazy day at my house. I woke up late this morning and so did my kids. Christian wasn't feeling 100% so he stayed home from school. I got some cleaning done today so I feel okay about that.
Last night in my quest for health we used the pool at the gym. I was a swimmer in high school and loved it. I was the crazy one whose favorite event was the 500 yard free-style. For anyone that doesn't know what that entails it is 20 lengths of the pool if the pool is 25 meters one way. This takes stamina and concentration to achieve in a timely manner both of which I seem to have lost in the 11 years since high school. I'm not sure when but somewhere along the timeline I got old and I'm not liking it. I decided to check out a swimming workout website to build a plan and came across 0-1650 in 6 weeks. I am going to start swimming 3x/week and in 6 weeks I will be able to swim a mile non-stop and with little to no discomfort. Since I have been working out everyday I feel fantastic. Zumba, weightlifting, treadmill, yoga, and swimming may seem like a lot but honestly I think it is the variety that keeps me motivated.

As far as shopping and saving money goes a new store is opening in our area tomorrow. Bottom Dollar Foods sent me an ad in the mail today and their prices are very enticing. Bananas for $0.39, chicken drumsticks or thighs ro $0.47/lb, and snacks for $0.78. Some of these prices are better than even Aldis. The best part is that their prices are low and they accept coupons! They sell name brand products and are giving the first 200 customers a reusable bag filled with quality store brands. If that is not good enough reason to go, from 8am-9am, there will also be Steelers at each location signing autographs.
I plan on going to sleep soon so that I can be up in the morning and out the door in plenty of time. I will let everyone know what I think after I go.

So, thank you for joining and I hope that you will follow me on this exciting and sometimes terrifying adventure into the unknown. Stay tuned there is plenty more to come and its going to be epic. ;-)
